"A merry heart is beautiful and beautifies those who feel its touch!”
I’m happy that we’re getting to know each other through this cyber space. It’s not a coincidence that you found this page and chances are you’re probably searching for answers or ideas of how you can better your life and the lives of people you love and are close to.
We’re all looking for love and peace. Without limitations of who we’re or what we have, each of us has within ourselves a spiritual vacuum that needs to be filled. We were created, spirit and body, and the secret is to find the correct balance between the two in our daily lives.
My dear friend, happiness comes from within; it is a state of spirit that you manifest outwardly through your attitude and reactions to external factors. It does not come through possessing things, is not about who we’re or how successful our lives have been. Just think or make a list of famous people, who supposedly “reached the top”, fulfilling all their ambitions, but who ended up alone and defeated.
Many times in life we face situations that we did not choose and over which we have no control, such as the case of a serious illness, a serious accident, the lose of a loved one, being born with a disability and many more. Also some time have to battle loneliness, depression and discouragement which can be very difficult to overcome and almost impossible to find or even see a way out for ourselves.
Whatever is the case, the question we must ask ourselves instead of “why me?” is “For what reason this is happening”? If we can learn to see life and what it brings us in a positive way, if from each difficult situation we can walk away with a valuable lesson, if we can learn to make what looks like a seeming defeat into a victory and through it all we draw close to God, our Creator, and let the breakings makes us sweeter nor bitter, we will have begun to discover “THE ART OF HAPPY LIVING”.
We can LEARN to be happy! And when that happen we would experience a positive change in our lives which in turn it will change the world around us.
About Gloria
At the age of 25, I suffered the loss of my husband after battling with cancer for 7 years. This experience marked my life with a “before” and “after”. It taught me that life is not guaranteed—it is a gift and very precious. We do not control it, but there is a Superior Being that does and if we LEARN how to “accept” His plan, we will receive the comfort that we need during some of our most trying times. (You can read a few of my life lessons in a magazine called Activated. (November 2002 issue) The article is titled, “I Accepted His Design”. www.activated.org
For 30 years I have dedicated my life to humanitarian and missionary work. Giving motivational seminars, workshops for parents, learning about alternative education, working with youth, working in team work set ups as well as dedicating many hours to personal counselling. During the course of my humanitarian work, I have lived in 5 different countries and visited another 10, which give me a vast experience living and working with people from different nationalities and backgrounds.
And today I want to encourage you to keep looking ahead and towards whatever new horizons God has prepared for you. As Mother Teresa of Calcuta said, “We have all been created to fulfil great destinies; we only need to comprehend them.”
You have a destiny, and there is a road to it, and the walk is meant to be POSITIVE and HAPPY for you!
